Please take a few moments to blog (yes, you will now be considered a blogger!) your thoughts on how you might utilize a wiki. This may not be your cup of tea but and that is ok. Please let us know what you are thinking!

I could use this to continue book discussions for my guided reading classes that I am only with for a short amount of time or cross-classes of students I may not even service.
I could also use this for class discussions about rules, procedures, behavior issues---to problem solve as a class.
Wikis would be a great resource for using with literature circles to respond to an assigned reading or text. It would also be good for students to share information within a group regarding reactions/ interpretations on a piece of art.
I think wiki could be used in the classroom for some different activities with students. For example, after reading a story I could post a question about the story and have students respond. Then other students could also respond.
I think it would depend on the age of the students. If I had younger students I feel it would be confusing, but with the older students it may give them a chance to ask questions they may otherwise be afraid to ask.
I think my class would enjoy this, I am still confused on how to create a wiki to begin this activity. Where do you go to create your own wiki site and password?
Most students would thoroughly enjoy this use of technology to share opinions, facts researched, and have those read and replied to from students outside our classroom. What a fun way to engage students and have them be more interactive!

To Wiki.......
This gives one central place to keep the on-going questions in an organized location.
I think using the wiki is something I would do more of if I were teaching older students.
To be totally honest I need to see more examples of a 'wiki' to know how I would use them in the room.
I think it could be used to respond to book studies. Responses could be tracked and addtional quesitons could be asked to keep the discussion going.
Use it like you would pen pals with another classroom in another school district.

This is not my cup of tea! :) I think it will be difficult to use with first graders.
It sounds great. But I think I would be more willing to try it if I were teaching older kids.

One use of a blog in the classroom could be to type in questions that a student had and allow students to respond to the questions thru the blog.

I'm not sure about all of this yet.
I really do not know if I would use this.
I would not use it because of my particular position and the limited amount of time that I have for instruction- but I'm glad to be learning about it!
I think it has lots of potential. I can't wait to see how other teachers use it this year!!
I think it would be difficult to use this because I only have my students for short periods of time.
It could be used when a student wants to share something privately, and you don't have the opportunity to speak with them during that day.
I would use it to let students do their own "book talks".

You could use it after teaching an indicator, by stating a question and then having students continue posting questions for others to answer.
I would like to use a wiki to discuss literature that we are reading as a class.
I think that Wiki has some interesting information
and is good for students to use , but I would not use it as my only source for information.
